Affordable Senior Housing | Affordable Senior Housing | HUD 202 Program that offers rental assistance for seniors who meet the requirements of the federal program. |
Assisted Living Residence | Assisted Living | An Assisted Living Residence is any living facility or place of accommodation in the state, however named, available for four (4) or more residents, that is advertised, offered, maintained or operated by the ownership or management, for the express or implied purpose of providing personal assistance, supervision, or both, to any residents who are dependent upon the services of others by reason of physical or mental impairment, and who may also require nursing care at a level that is not greater than limited and intermittent nursing care. A small assisted living residence has a bed capacity of four (4) to sixteen (16). A large assisted living residence has a bed capacity of seventeen (17) or more. |
Home Health Agencies | Home Care | A Home Health Agency is an organization primarily engaged in providing professional nursing services either directly or through contract arrangements and at least one of the following services: home health aide services, other therapeutic services, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, nutritional services or medical social services to persons in their place of residence on a part-time or intermittent basis. |
Hospice | Hospice | A Hospice Agency means a private or public agency or organization licensed in West Virginia for the administration or provision of Hospice care services to terminally ill persons in the persons’ temporary or permanent residences by using an interdisciplinary team, including, at a minimum, persons qualified to perform nursing services, social work services, the general practice of medicine or osteopathy, and pastoral or spiritual counseling. |
Nursing Homes & Facilities | Nursing | A Nursing Home or Nursing Facility is any institution, residence or place in this state which is operated for the purpose of providing accommodations and care, for a period of more than 24 hours, for four or more persons who are elderly, ill or otherwise incapacitated. Patients may receive extensive, ongoing nursing care due to physical or mental impairment or rehabilitation services for persons who are convalescing from illness or incapacitation. |
Residential Care Communities | Residential | Residential Care Communities provide personal assistance in activities of daily living, in need of supervision because of mental or physical impairment, or have limited and intermittent nursing care needs. |
