An Adult Day Care is a group program designed to meet the individual needs of functionally impaired adults, which is both structured and comprehensive, and which provides a variety of health, social, and related support services in a protective setting. |
| Adult Residential Care Facilities | Residential
| An Adult Residential Care Facility is a publicly or privately operated residence or facility that provides personal assistance, lodging, meals for compensation to two or more elderly or disabled adults who are unrelated to the residence licensee, operator, or administrator. |
| Home Health Agency | Home Care
| A Home Health Agency is a state-owned and operated agency, or a subdivision of such an agency or organization, or a private nonprofit organization, or a proprietary organization which provides for the skilled home health care to the public, under the order of a physician and in the place of residence of the person receiving the care. This care includes at least skilled nursing and one other service listed in the minimum standards which may be physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, medical social services, home health aides, or such others as may be listed in the minimum standards. |

| Hospice includes an autonomous, centrally administered, medically directed program providing a continuum of home, outpatient, and homelike inpatient care for the terminally ill patient and his family. It employs an interdisciplinary team to assist in providing palliative and supportive care to meet the special needs arising out of the physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and economic stresses which are experienced during the final stages of illness and during dying and bereavement. |

| A Nursing Home/Facility may include a private home, institution, building, residence or other place, serving two or more persons who are not related by blood or marriage to the operator, whether operated for profit or not. Nursing Homes include those places operated by a political subdivision of the state of Louisiana, which undertaking, through their ownership or management, to provide maintenance, personal care, or nursing for persons who, by reason of illness or physical infirmity or age, are unable to properly care for themselves. |
| Personal Care Home | Residential
| Personal Care Home- an Adult Residential Care Home/Facility that provides room, board and personal services, for compensation, to two but not more than eight residents in a congregate living and dining setting and is in a home that is designed as any other private dwelling in the neighborhood. |
| Shelter Care Home | Residential
| Shelter Care Home- an Adult Residential Facility that provides room, board, and personal services, for compensation, to nine or more residents in a congregate living and dining setting. |
